The New York Post reported over the weekend that Weiner was exchanging lurid texts with a "40-something divorcee" late in July when his son with Hillary Clinton's top aide, Huma Abedin, climbed into his bed.

The Post published a photo they claim Weiner then sent the woman, which shows a little boy and Weiner's underwear clad crotch.

Huma Abedin announced Monday that she will separate from her husband Anthony Weiner, 51, the former congressman and New York mayoral candidate, after another round of lurid photos were published by the New York Post, alleging that Weiner had been sexting with another woman.

“After long painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband,” Abedin, 40, a close aide to Hillary Clinton, said in a statement.

During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy," Abedin said.

Weiner, who was once a rising star in the Democratic Party before his proclivities spelled the end of his career in Congress, appears to have deactivated his Twitter account in the wake of the most recent report.“Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what’s best for our son, who is the light of our life. “When a divorcing party is a public figure or a potentially public figure, often the benefits to both of settlement outweigh the financial and emotional consequences of a public divorce,” says Randy Kessler, an Atlanta-based lawyer who wrote the book “Divorce: Protect Yourself, Your Kids, and Your Future.” (He doesn’t personally know the parties involved in this case.) Kessler anticipates a mediated resolution if (or when) both sides accept that a divorce is inevitable."You do realize you can see you[r] Weiner in that pic?? Weiner reportedly told The Post he and the woman “have been friends for some time.” The Post said the woman shared screenshots related to Weiner dating to January 2015 but the two have never met in real life."She has asked me not to comment except to say that our conversations were private, often included pictures of her nieces and nephews and my son and were always appropriate," Weiner reportedly said. After yet another sexting scandal, this one involving their 4-year-old son, Huma Abedin has announced she will separate from husband Anthony Weiner. It was Abedin, top aide to presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, who announced the news Monday.
